Scrambled Paneer


2 cups paneer (cottage cheese), coarsely grated

1 tbsp. vegetable oil

½ tsp. mustard seeds

1 cup coarsely cut onions

1 green chilli thinly sliced

Red chilli pieces/ chilli paste to taste

1 tsp crushed ginger and 1 tsp crushed garlic

1 pinch turmeric powder

1 tomato cut into small pieces

Curry leaves finely chopped

Salt to taste


Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to it. Fry the cut onions, green chillies, ginger and garlic over medium flame.

Once brown, add the cut tomatoes and continue frying for a minute. Add the paneer, curry leaves and salt with the red chilli pieces to taste.

Toss with noodles or serve with bread.

Could also be used to prepare Paneer Pakoda and Chilli Paneer.
